My name is Damien Churchill, born in 1988; I resided in Kent for my early years, later moving to Hampshire where I grew up. I've held an interest in computers for almost as long as I can remember, originally simply playing games and such and such back on a 386. But this developed into a deeper interest as I grew up, starting with learning HTML, and then progressively learning programming languages with time.

Upon leaving college is when my programming interest really kicked off, after starting my first job as a developer, I had to learn C# and .NET as well as delving into the realms of Linux system administration (of a Debian flavour). After I began to feel proficient in C# I sampled some of Microsoft's other technologies such as Silverlight to expand my knowledge base further.

I have now grown a big interest in scripting languages, namely Python and Javascript. I sampled Python initially as I wanted to modify a part of an open source program. After figuring out the syntax I began to play around with it more and more, eventually using it for a couple of small applications after which it landed the spot of my preferred language.

Since I have an insatiable need to fiddle I have experimented with many other languages such as Java, C, Cython and Ruby, picking up a degree of proficiency in them. Such fiddling has resulted in writing C extensions for Python which was an interesting task I set myself.
